Adelphi Offers Summer Pre-College Program to Prepare High School Students for a Promising Future

With sessions beginning mid- to late July, Adelphi University is offering pre-college courses for high school students to gain a memorable college experience. The residential program provides a hands-on opportunity to engage in college learning while still in high school.

“As most high school students are now beginning summer break, it’s not too late for them to enhance their summer plans and add a résumé-worthy college experience,” said Kristen Capezza, M.B.A. ’12, associate vice president for enrollment management. “Students can also earn college credit to get a jump start on their path toward a bachelor’s degree.”

The programs for students entering their sophomore, junior or senior year of high school in Fall 2018 include:

● Business and Entrepreneurship

● Introduction to Digital Media Production

● Introduction to Video Game Programming

● Introduction to Nursing

● Psychology and Pop Culture

● Science, Technology and Art

● Exploring Musical Theater

Designed to develop academic, personal and professional skill sets, these courses will supply opportunities for students to gain three transferable college credits, learn in state-of-the-art facilities, experience the culture of nearby New York City, and enjoy living on Adelphi’s blossoming campus. The programs noted above all run from Sunday, July 22, to Saturday, August 4.

Other summer options include the noncredit Sciences, Medicine and Health: Winthrop Summer Science Institute Day Program, with two sessions: Monday, July 16, to Friday, July 20, for commuter students and Monday, July 23, to Friday, July 27, for residents.
